The JBSW Editorial Board met Friday, October 27, 2006 at the BPD annual conference in Los Angeles, CA.
The primary discussion items were delineation of the responsibilities of editorial boards and length of appointment for consulting
editors. A summary of the discussion including a beginning list of board responsibilities appears below.
Responsibilities of the
Editorial Board
1.
Review applications for consulting editors
2.
Evaluate the financial viability of the journal or
of special editions
3.
Suggest potential editorial board members to BPD President
4.
Consult on difficult situations involving JBSW such
as conflicts, crises, etc.
5.
Set policy for
terms of office for consulting editors (e.g., 2 years for new appointments and 3 years after that).
6.
Set policies, procedures, priorities, and publication
criteria Grafton will look at the responsibilities of other editorial boards and their terms of office.
