BPD Regional Meeting
24th Annual Baccalaureate Social Work Education Conference
Friday, October 29, 2006
Northeast Region:
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont,
New Hampshire, Maine, Puerto Rico
During the 24th annual BPD 28 conference attendees from the Northeast region gathered for discussion and dialogue. One
of the more important functions of this meeting is the opportunity for people to put a name with a face and also offer support
to first time attendees. The primary topic for discussion was how the membership could stay engaged with the organization
without a conference in 2007. It was the consensus of those gathered that BPD had made the right decision in switching to
the spring so competition for conferences would not occur with CSWE.
It was suggested that a listserv be created for the Northeast region so support among the group could continue. As the
convener, Kim-Anne Perkins agreed to assist the group in forming the listserv. Any other ideas from the membership on how
to continue to be of service could take place in this venue. Meeting was adjourned at 8:55pst.
