Regency Phoenix has been chosen as the official location for
the 2009 BPD Annual Conference. Located in the center of downtown- steps from the Phoenix Convention Center, Symphony Hall,
and Herberger Theater- the Hyatt Regency places you near spectacular sports, arts, culture and attractions.
BPD is proud to announce the start
of online registration for our conference beginning in October 20, 2008. Online registration will be available for student
volunteers and individuals paying by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). Paper registration will still be available
for individuals paying by check. Stay tuned to the new BPD website for additional instructions.
The following registration rates are available for the conference:
20- Dec.12, 2008 $295- Members $525-
Jan. 31, 2009 $345- Members $575-
*Regular rates will apply during onsite
registration from March 17th-22nd of the conference.
Registration forms must be sent in with payment in order for registrations to be processed. Registrations must be received
in the office no later than January 31st. If for any reason you think your registration will not be received in
our offices by January 31st, do not mail them. Simply bring the form and payment with you to the
conference and it will be processed on site.
Please note that all processed registrants will receive an emailed receipt for their registration. This is the only confirmation
that participants will have to show that you are registered for the conference.
The BPD Reservation website will open at the end of September. Please stay tuned to the BPD
website and list serve for more information. The Hyatt Regency Phoenix is offering the following room rates for the conference:
Hotel reservations may be made electronically beginning September
15, 2008. To make your hotel reservation, log on to https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_gi_new&groupID=144212. The cut off date for hotel reservations is February 22, 2009. Reservation requests
received after the cut-off date will be based on availability at the group rates.
The Conference Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to assist
with carrying out the 2009 Annual Meeting. Student volunteers can sign up by registering online for the conference. On the
registration page, they will be able to indicate which day(s) they are interested in serving.
Student volunteers will be assigned to 4-6 hour shifts during their selected day(s)
Ground transportation is available to and from the airport for $10 per person, with a minimum
of 2 people per car ($20 minimum fare). This service is available 24 hours a day. Use the courtesy phone in the baggage claim
