Please accept the following as clarification of the nominations and elections process for the 2009 BPD elections.
1. Parties interested in serving on the BPD Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee, or in any other
leadership position should complete the attached Leadership Form and return it to Amanda Scott at ascott@cswe.org no later than Friday, October 3, 2008.
2.
The following positions are up for election to
the Board of Directors:
a. President-Elect: Shall be a member in good standing
AND a program director at the time of election. The term shall be for one year as President-Elect followed by a two year term
as President.
b. Vice President: Shall be a member in good standing AND
a program director at the time of election. The term of office shall be three years.
c. Secretary: Shall be a member in good standing AND a program director at the time of election. The
term of office shall be three years.
d. Member at Large (2
positions): Shall be members in good standing AND program directors at the time of election. The terms of
office shall be three years.

The following
positions are up for election to the Nominating Committee:
a. Region 1 Position (AL, AR, GA, FL, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN):
Must be a member in good standing; the term of office shall be for three years.
b. Region 2 Position (OH, WV, VA, PA, KY, MD, DE, DC): Must be a member in good standing;
the term of office shall be for three years.
c.
Region 4 Position
(IA, IL , IN, MI, MN, MO, ND, SD, WI): Must be a member in good standing; the term of office shall be for three years.

The proposed
slate will be presented at the BPD Membership Meeting which will be
held at the CSWE APM on October 31, 2008 at 5:30pm.
5.
Individuals
elected to leadership positions with BPD will be expected to sign a conflict of interest policy. A draft of the policy is
attached for your information. Additionally, a copy of the BPD Bylaws and detailed roles and responsibilities for Board positions
are attached for your consideration in deciding to run for office.
6. All terms of office will begin on the 1st day of January following
the election.
