Constantine G. Kledaras
Campbell University
I have been
a social work educator for many years. I started my career as a social work faculty
member at the undergraduate level at East Carolina University. Later, I pioneered
the development of the MSW graduate program, and I served as the first Associate Dean of Graduate Studies for the School of
Social Work and Criminal Justice for nine years. I left East Carolina University
in 1994 and became the Chair of the Department of Social Work at Campbell University.
The program needed to be accredited, and I went there for this purpose. The
program was accredited in 1995 and was reaccredited in 1999.
My qualifications
include serving as the undergraduate delegate representative to the CSWE Board, serving on the Commission on Accreditation
as well as various committees while a Commissioner, and Chairing numerous site visits for CSWE. I have been Chair of the North Carolina Certification and Licensure Board for Social Work; President of
NASW-NC Chapter; delegate to Delegate Assembly-NASW; have served, and continue to serve, on numerous state and national committees
of NASW-NC; served as President of the Pitt County Mental Health Association and continue to be active in mental health; served
as President of the N. C. Association for Social Work in Mental Health, served as Treasurer of the N. C. Mental Health Association;
and served on the Examination Committee of the Association of Social Work Boards. Currently,
I serve as the President of the N. C. Society for Clinical Social Work and am a Chief Investigator for Ethical Complaints
for the N. C. Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
I feel that
these leadership positions, many community activities, and diverse affiliations provide me with the qualification to serve
in the position as Board Member At Large.
My past activities
with CSWE and BPD have been noted. Currently, I serve as a member of the Gerontological
Committee and as a member of AGE-SW. I have served as a past Regional Planning
Committee member for BPD’s Annual Conference, and currently am a Regional Planning Committee member for CSWE’s
APM.
My knowledge and experience
in social work education, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, provide me with a depth and breadth of understanding
of social work education which, I feel, can contribute to the further development and growth of social work education at all
levels and particularly at the baccalaureate level. I have been, and continue
to be, an advocate for social work baccalaureate education and have taken positions which were not “politically correct”
nor popular. However, I have been, and continue to be, committed and dedicated
to baccalaureate social work education and have remained steadfast to this level of education.

Ginny Terry Raymond
University of Alabama
I am honored to have been
nominated for a position on the BPD Board of Directors and sincerely thank the Nominating Committee. I am particularly interested
in service on the Board at this time because I believe we are at a critical juncture. My recent service as a BPD representative
on the CSWE Board of Directors convinces me that it is time for those two organizations, and other organizations, to work
more closely and cooperatively for the benefit of social work education and the profession as a whole. We have already seen social work education benefit from our cooperative efforts in recent years.
As regards my background,
I have been a social work educator for 27 years, having taught BSW, MSW and PhD courses. I served as BSW Program Chair for
5 years, then resigned to complete the PhD. Since then, I have served as BSW
Program Chair on and off for another 5 years. I have served BPD through my membership, as a reviewer of abstracts for the
annual conference, as a frequent presenter at the conference, as a representative on the Commission on Education Policy and
Planning, and on the CSWE Board.
BPD has been important to
me since its beginning. I was involved in the first, small meeting at Spalding
College in the early ‘80s, and have attended every BPD conference since. We have grown by leaps and bounds and, as is
inevitable, are experiencing some growth pains. That growth can remain positive
if we are successful in managing it. Working together, we can maintain a strong,
viable organization with a unique contribution to social work education, BSW educators and students.
