Membership Committee Report

Joel Ambelang, chair

The purpose of the membership committee is to recruit members and maintain membership services. This includes retention of current members and active recruitment of new members. To promote active recruitment, first time members, if they join NOW, will retain valid membership through December, 2002. This offer is for first time members only. This means that new members can attend the 2001 Denver meeting at the membership rate and enjoy continuing membership through 2002.
Otherwise, membership follows the calendar year from January 1 through December 31.

As of September 5, 2001, BPD membership totaled 538. The prospect of 600 members at the Denver meeting is high - "a mile high."

Wanda Katinszky, Spencer Zieger's graduate assistant, will be at the Denver Conference registration desk. She will be responsible for maintaining our BPD membership database and its many functions.

A reminder for the Denver meeting, all registration and membership procedures are to be handled through KRA Corporation. Go to www.bpdonline.org to register electronically for the conference and pay membership dues for 2002.

Help BPD become an increasingly strong voice in social work education. Join us in Denver, learn, share, and "get down" with the Shameless Blues Band.??
